Since leaving Shipping Australia in 2012, Mr Russell has been active in the industry in a not-for-profit (NFP) board position for the Australian Mariners Welfare Society and as a trustee of the Sydney Bethel Union, appointed by the Governor of NSW.
Mr Russell said that it is exciting to join such an innovative technology developer in the shipping and logistics industries.
“I’ve spent 45 years involved with the maritime industry and in this time I’ve seen a lot of technology come and go, including several collapsible container products. But as soon as I saw the outline of the CEC Systems’ COLLAPSECON®, I knew it was a game changer.
I look forward to contributing what I can to help CEC Systems achieve their goals. The potential this company has to revolutionize the way we handle empty containers and raise the bar throughout the value chain is hard to underestimate.”
CEC Systems CEO, Nicholas Press, said “we are thrilled that a maritime industry expert of the experience and distinction of Llew Russell will be joining the CEC Systems board.”
“Mr Russell brings extensive shipping and logistics industry insights that will help CEC Systems remain at the forefront of technological development in this space.”
